Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Kevin O’Farrell to the Commission for Independent Education

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Kevin O’Farrell to the Commission for Independent Education.

Kevin O’Farrell, PhD

O’Farrell is the Executive Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives at Polk State College. Previously, he served as the Senior Chancellor for Higher Education and Workforce Development with the Florida Department of Education. O’Farrell earned his bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and organizational communications from the University of Toccoa Falls, his master’s degrees in political science and in public administration, and his doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
