MPU Hosts Student Whole Person Development Recognition Ceremony to Commend Outstanding Students and Showcase Whole Person Education Achievements
MACAU, November 4 - Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) recently held a Student Whole Person Development Recognition Ceremony under the theme “Set Sail for Your Shining Future” to commend 400 students who demonstrated outstanding performance in the “SHINE Whole Person Development Scheme,” as well as various programmes and university teams, recognising their efforts and achievements in a range of areas beyond academic performance. The Acting Vice-Rector of MPU Lam Chan Tong, heads of academic units, teachers and university team coaches attended the event to witness students’ growth and breakthroughs on the path of diversified development. The occasion was lively and joyous.
In his speech, Lam Chan Tong stated that with the support of the nation and the Macao SAR Government, MPU has continued to enhance its teaching and research standards and international influence, actively aligning with the development needs of the nation and the Macao SAR, and advancing the construction of the Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town to create broader learning and development opportunities for students. MPU places equal emphasis on professional education and whole person development. Through the “SHINE Whole Person Development Scheme,” students are encouraged to step beyond the classroom and participate in activities such as culture and arts, sports competitions, leadership training, social practice, career exploration and international exchange, cultivating communication and collaboration skills, innovative thinking, and problem solving abilities, thereby enhancing their overall qualities. At the same time, MPU actively supports students in participating in various external competitions, achieving outstanding results in the Asian Games, WorldSkills Competition, and Macao Inter-University Competition, demonstrating MPU students’ spirit of embracing challenges and pursuing excellence, and reflecting the University’s achievements in whole person education.
At the ceremony, the “SHINE Whole Person Development Scheme Excellence Award,” the “Outstanding Team Performance Award,” and the “The Most Activity Participation in Programme Award” were presented to commend students for their exceptional performance in various fields and competitions. MPU is committed to creating a diversified learning and growth environment, promoting equally professional knowledge and comprehensive abilities, and continuously deepening whole person education to nurture outstanding talents with international perspectives, innovative thinking and a sense of social responsibility, thereby contributing to the development of Macao and the nation.
